DDH9 Handmade Flowers - Week 1

Our DDH Challenge this week, led by Michelle, is to create cards using handmade flowers.  There are so many ways to create flowers, but one of my favorite ways is a simple scrunch method.  I simply punched out flowers or scalloped circles from cream cardstock, sprayed them with a water spritzer bottle and scrunched them up.  When they dry they are stiff and look like flowers.  I added glitter glue to the centers and silk leaves.

The stamp set I used on my card is the DDH image Cherry Blossom Bird.  The printed paper is the Emma SWIC collection from TAC, and I used some of the Emma cardstock.  The images are colored with Copic markers.

We would love for you to join our handmade flowers challenge and link it to our blog.  We would love it if you use a DDH stamp set for your card.

Also be sure to check out the other designers' cards at their blogs and see what they have done with this challenge.  Here is the list of our team:

Tune in Tuesday - Mama Wants Sneak Peek

Tune in Tuesday is here again with another new stamp set from our
new Inspiration Book and Catalogue.
Mama Wants is a fun set, and I enjoyed coloring the lady with all the bling and foo-foo!  I used Copic Markers to color her and added a jewel for her diamond ring and jewels for the flowers on her shoes and hat.  The pearl necklace was colored with a gel pen, as were the flowers.  Then to add more shine, I added the clear Gelly Roll Gel pen to the buckle on her belt and to the feathers on her hat.

I made my center step card using the Scor-Pal and cutting slits with my paper trimmer. The background cardstock is from the More Mimi collection, as is the printed cardstock. The sides of the card are accented with pearl hearts from the Clear and Pearl Gem Collections.

Just a few more days until Seminar.  I can't wait to get my hands on the new Inspiration Book and Catalogue and see all the wonderful new stamp sets.  It has been fun getting a
sneak peek this month of some of the new sets.  The samples have been incredible on the Savvy Projects blog.

DDH8 Challenge -Pearls and/or Lace - Week 2

It is Pearls and Lace again this week.  Hopefully you took a peek at each designer's blog last week and left a comment on their sites so that you have a great chance to win the free stamp set.  Again this week, hop along with us and see what new creations we all have.

My card is made with a DDH stamp from the Portfolio Collection.  I colored it with Copic Markers and added a lace doily, sponged with brown ink, under it and pearls beside it.  The base is made with brown cardstock and  Sands of Time Classic SWIC printed cardstock from TAC.  I tied a twill ribbon around the bottom of the card.

The lace and pearls give it sort of a vintage look, don't you think?

Tune in Tuesday - Vintage Rides with Kerry Urbatch and Team

Happy Flag Day today, June 14th.
Kerry Urbatch has invited the Dream Team to join her in celebrating
as she features the new set called Vintage Rides.

I used the bicycle from the Vintage Rides set and added a clip art flag and computer generated saying to make a Flag Day card.  The blue cardstock is from Mia's Cottage cardstock and the red is from Miss Moxie cardstock. The Scor-Bug added texture to the top of the card.   I colored the image with Copic markers

Don't you love seeing the new stamp sets from the upcoming catalog?
I can hardly wait to see all the new sets.

DDH8 Challenge - Pearls and/or Lace - Week 1

For our DDH8 Challenge, Tracy chose Pearls and/or Lace.  That really gives it
a vintage look, doesn't it?  I chose to use both pearls and lace.

For my card I used the DDH stamp set called Cottage Rose.  It is a beautiful
single image for only $2.75.  Perhaps you would enjoy trying a card
with this digi stamp too?  I used light pink Bazzill cardstock for my base card and
then a deeper rose for the bottom of the card, which I corrugated first.  My lace is
actually a paper doily on which I layered some pink and white Spellbinders Classic
Scalloped Circles.  The image is colored with Copic Markers.  Lastly I embellished it with
a white satin bow and small pearl clusters.

What a delight it would be if you chose to participate in our Pearls and/or Lace
challenge, particularly if you use a DDH stamp for your card.  We will have a
random drawing for a prize for all participants.

Also be sure to check out all the DDH Designers' blogs to see their
creations with pearl and/or lace.  Here is the list:

DDH Blog Hop - Fancy Folds

What fun to have a Fancy Folds Blog Hop.  I love trying new and different folds and cuts on cards.  The DDH stamp set I chose for my Tri-Step card is A Day at the Beach.  This very stamp set might be yours soon if you are the winner of our Blog random drawing.  It has lots of pieces and is very versitile for summer projects.

My card is made with beige Bazzill cardstock and scored  with a Scor-Pal.  I used TAC's
Amberley Grace SWIC printed cardstock and a TAC saying stamp from the
set called Anchor to The Soul.  The images are colored with Copic Markers.

Three mystery Design Team members will be hiding a magic shovel in their fancy fold. This magic shovel will give you A Day at the Beach from Digi Design House just for commenting on their blog post. You have until 6:00PM CST on Sunday, June 12 to comment. At 6:01PM, the number of comments will be tallied, and the random number generator will do its magic to pick the winner. You don't know which team members have the magic shovel, so make sure you comment on EACH stop in the hop. Oh yes, we are
giving away THREE FREE STAMP SETS!

Here's the order of our blog hop.  Stop by each designer's site.

Favorites Blog Hop

This blog hop is to feature some of our favorite stamp sets or papers or techniques.  That is really difficult for me, because I love so many of the TAC stamps.  But I chose  Rise and Shine, a set I've used quite a lot.  I fell in love with this set when taking Mischelle's Copic Caboodle Coloring Classes last year.  The rooster is a fun image to color, and I like the sayings that go with it.

My card is made with Hemingway SWIC printed cardstock and Hemingway solid cardstock  The image is stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The distressed look comes from crumpling the paper and sponging ink over the creases.

I have also made tumbled marble tile coasters using this same stamp set.  These tiles are stamped with Stazon-Ink and colored with Fabrico Markers. I heat set them and sprayed them lightly with a clear matt enamel spray.  The backs of the coasters have cork bottoms.

Coasters make nice gifts, and I have given several sets of these coasters to friends who have a rooster decor in their kitchens.  This year I decided to do another set for my Seminar prop swap, so some angel will receive them when we do our swaps!  Hope she likes them.

What is your favorite stamp set?
Make a card and share it in our blog hop.

DDH7 Challenge - One Layer Wonders - Week 2

This is week 2 of the One Layer Wonders DDH7 Challenge.  It really is a challenge
not to layer cardstock on the card.

I made my one-layer card with Photoshop Elements so that I could add a stripe at the bottom and position my digital image on the card prior to printing.  The stamp I chose is from the DDH set called Cherry Blossom Bird.  I printed on a textured cream cardstock and added a saying from Our Daily Bread stamps.  Bazzill Bitty Blossom flowers and a jewel are the embellishments.  The flower was white, so I colored it with Copic markers to match the image, which I colored with PrismaColor pencils and Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits.

Please join our One Layer Wonders challenge and link to the DDH Blog.
If you use a DDH stamp set you will get an extra chance to win the challenge
prize, a DDH stamp set.  We'd love for you to browse our wonderful
digi stamps and choose one to create your special card.

Be sure to visit all the DDH Design Team blogs and see what they have
done with their one-layer cards.
