Happy Independence Day!

In honor of our nation, the USA, we celebrate the birth of our nation today.  This pop-up card I made for a monthly swap with my local stamp group.  The front of the card uses background cardstock from the Our Daily Bread Patriotic Collection.  The stamp is from a group of patriotic stamps I had in my collection.  I added a star ribbon in red, white, and blue.

The inside of the pop-up card also has some of the Patriotic Collection cardstock from Our Daily Bread Designs, the star ribbon and more patriotic stamps I had in my old collection.

Have a wonderful celebration of our nation on the 4th of July.

Blessings to all, and God bless America!

The Stamps of Life June Card Kit

Each month the Stamps of Life Card Club has a kit full of product with which to create fun cards.  This is a card I made with the beautiful double-sided cardstocks and accessories from the kit.  I thought it would be fun to share it.  The die cut for the card is one of Stephanie Banard's 3-D Framlet Drop-ins.  It was very tedious cutting out all the pieces, but fun to design and put it all together.

Thanks for coming to my blog to have a look.  Blessings!

Red Rubber Inspirational - For the Boys

Today I am submitting a card for the Red Rubber Inspirational Challenge - For the Boys.  This challenge is to do a masculine card.  My card uses two stamp sets from Red Rubber Designs.  One is Eyes to See Cling Mount Rubber Stamp set and the other is Masterpiece Cling Mount Rubber Stamp set.

To make my card, I used Rich Cocoa Memento ink and stamped the background using several of the stamps in the set on to kraft cardstock.  The main image is stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  I also sponged ink around the edges of the image and popped it up on the front of the card.  I tied a brown twill ribbon around the card, adding a masculine touch without a bow.

This card was sent to a special friend, Pee Wee Insall, in my Bible study class, who just had his second kidney removed.  The whole class signed the card for him.

Have a blessed day!  Thanks for coming to my blog.

Butterflies

Hi there!  I'm  joining Deb Segler's Heavenly Touch in helping friends “SEEK HIM DAILY”.  I’m honored to post a card for you to enjoy.

My card is made with a stamp set from Stampin’ Up’s Sale-a-Bration going on now until March 31, 2015.  It is called Butterfly Basics.  I’ve also used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  For this card I made my own background using stamps in the set.  The inks I used are Palette Jardin Moss, Boudoir Blush, and Raw Sienna.  I just stamped them randomly over the card.  The base card is green cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in Palette Noir ink and matted it in the green cardstock.  A green ribbon was placed under the sentiment, which is popped up with foam mounting tape.  Lastly, I added two butterfly die cuts, one cut from the green cardstock and one from a multicolor dotted cardstock.

I love the sentiment with this set.  It reminds me of some spiritual truths.  We all are sinners in depravity before God saves us and makes all things new.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”  Our lives are completely transformed by Christ, just like the caterpillar is transformed into a beautiful butterfly.  As we look at people in our lives who seem to be caterpillars who do not have spiritual life and vitality, we cannot know what God plans for them.  We must love them and share the good news of salvation with them.  Perhaps they too can be transformed into something beautiful by His love and grace.

Have a blessed day!  And thanks for visiting my blog.

Nature's Greeting Deer by Pickled Potpourri

A favorite image of mine is Nature's Greeting Deer by Pickled Potpourri.  It makes a great male card for a birthday or Father's Day or even just thinking of you.  I've cut out the image with a Spellbinders circle die and inked the background with a sponge.  I've used woodgrain patterned paper for the card background and added some burlap ribbon and a multi-colored brown ribbon.  It is a simple card but shows up the image well.

Pickled Potpourri has lots of nice images.  Visit them and see which ones you like best.

Red Rubber Inspirational #204 Focused on Stamping Anything Goes

This week on Red Rubber Inspirationals, Lynda leads a challenge that is stamping focused, but the theme can be anything.  I'm joining the challenge with this sweet swan set called Swans Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs.  I've made an anniversary card.  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the heart frame die cut is Spellbinders Heart Squares.  I colored the image with Copic markers, using a cloud template and sponge to make the sky with Palette ink.  The background patterned cardstock is from my stash of remnants, and I added two jewels.
