Tune in Tuesday - Happy Leaf Trio

For the month of August TAC is featuring the Awards set Happy Leaf Trio.  This set makes me think of autumn, so I chose to make an autum card using a technique we tried at Seminar.  The image is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on glossy cardstock
and then brayered with a Kaleidacolor pad.
ext it is spritzed with Ink Potion #9 to give it a textured look.

I chose Winchester SWIC for my background paper.  Adding a birthday saying (also from Happy Leaf Trio) and a ribbon finished off my card.

I did a second identical card, but instead of stamping in black, I stamped with Versamark so that it would be a resist image when brayered. I left this image smooth rather than spritzing it with Ink Potion #9.

The resist ink give it a different look from the black.  But I think I prefer the first card.

DDH10 Challenge - Black & White - Week 1

Welcome to a new challenge for the next two weeks. And do I have a surprise for you! This challenge is Black and White, and DDH has two sets of FREE Black and White paper downloads for you to use in creating your card.  You have until Sunday, August 7th at 6:00 PM (CST) to link your card to the DDH blog and you'll be entered into the random drawing to win a free DDH stamp set of your choice. If you also use a DDH stamp on your card that you enter, you will get a double chance to win.

My card uses a free black & white download from DDH for the background paper. The butterfly image from DDH's Asian Butterfly stamp set is die cut from Spellbinders Labels 5 Nestabilities. I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the largest die. Then I added a jewel to the black and white ribbon.

Be sure to look at the other Design Team blogs
for what they are posting this week.

Christmas in July with Paula-Kay

Welcom again to Christmas in July!  How exciting!  Are you being inspired this week?
I have loved seeing some fresh new ideas for Christmas cards on the Savvy Projects blog.

This cute little mouse is part of the Holly Jolly stamp set.  Isn't he sweet with his package ready to give?  He is colored with Copic markers.  The die cut is Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 5.

For texture and dimension I added a floss bow to the tag.

Thank you for looking at my Christmas card.  I wonder what is stirring in your
mind as you think toward the holidays and Christmas cards.

My card is colored with Copic markers.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities dies for mounting the image and popped up the saying with an oval tag and stapled ribbon.

Please make a summer themed card and join our challenge by linking to the DDH blog.  Your name may be drawn in the random drawing as our winner of a DDH stamp set.  We would be delighted if you chose to use a DDH stamp set for your card.  If you do use one, your chances of winning will be doubled, becuase your name will be entered twice!   Join the fun.

DDH Blog Hop - Christmas in July

It is Christmas in July for our blog hop!  If you came to my blog from Debra Miller's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, you may want to start at the DDH Blog so you won't miss any of the design team's blogs, and also so you can be eligible to win a free DDH Christmas stamp set (see information below).

I used the DDH stamp called Train for my Christmas card.  I love this vintage stamp with the script background.  It requires little coloring and makes a nice card.  I did color the holly berries with Copics and then I inked the edges of the image.  The background paper is from TAC's retired Merry Wishes paper collection, always a favorite with me.  I added a Bazzill poinsettia flower also with some bead centers.

Since this IS Christmas, we are giving away presents! Three mystery Design Team members will be giving away a Digi Design House Christmas set of your choice just for commenting on their blog post. You have until 6:00PM CST on Sunday, July 10 to comment. At 6:01PM, the number of comments will be tallied, and the random number generator will do its magic to pick the winner. You don't know which team members will be giving away the presents, so make sure you comment on EACH stop in the hop. Oh yes, we are giving away THREE FREE STAMP SETS!

Technique Blog Hop - Spotlighting

It is time for another blog hop - this time it's a technique called "spotlighting".
I chose a new Level A Award set called Lovely Butterfly.

This card spotlights the butterfly by popping up a circle with the butterfly and coloring only that part of the image.  I used Copic markers to color the butterfly.  The printed paper and solid cardstock are from the Cha Cha SWIC collection.  Eyelets were added for accent.

Join the blog hop and showcase your own spotlightling card by linking it to the Savvy Projects blog.

DDH8- Handmade Flowers - Week 2

This is Week 2 of our Handmade Flowers challenge.  I saw this flower in a magazine recently and thought I would try it.  It is made with rick rack ribbon just glued in a circle with a button center.  That is a simple flower but has an elegant look.

The background paper on my card is made with Maggie SWIC from The Angel Company, and the DDH stamp image is Buggy Postage, which I colored with Copic markers.

Here's a close up of the flower.

We would love for you to join our handmade flowers challenge and link it to our blog. We would love it if you use a DDH stamp set for your card.

Also be sure to check out the other designers' cards at their blogs and see what they have done with this challenge. Here is the list of our team:

Frinally Friday - America I Love with Risa and Team

Finally Friday
America I Love with Risa and Team

It is the weekend before Independence Day, so our team is featuring a new stamp set called America I Love.  It is fun to see how each of the team will create a card with this stamp set.

For the background of my card I used a printed sheet from the Just Like Dad paper collection.  The stamp image is colored with Copic markers and mounted on dark blue cardstock.

Happy Independence Day!
