Red Rubber Designs - Red, White, Blue

Happy Memorial Day!  Red, White, Blue is the theme for my Red Rubber Designs card this week.  The RRD stamp set America I Love is the perfect set to do this theme.  It can be used for a special patriotic celebration card.

I've also used a saying from the United We Stand stamp set.  The background for my card is red cardstock cut with Spellbinders Lacey Rectangles and a piece of blue cardstock run through the Corru-Gator Paper Crimper.  Inks used are Memento Tuxedo Black and Palette Starry Night.  The image is colored with a variety of Copic markers (too many to name). The base card is Premium White Cardstock.  Sticker jewels are added for accent.

It is Memorial Day, and Red Rubber Designs is having a sale today.  Go shop and get free shipping plus free cling mount for any stamps purchased.

Red Rubber Designs - Flowers

May is the month of flowers.  This week I have two 3-D projects.  They are tumbled marble tile coasters.  This is one of my favorite projects to make for little gifts for friends.

I stamped the first tile with one of Red Rubber Designs new May releases, Be Fabulous, with Stazon Jet Black ink and colored the image with Fabrico markers.

The back of the tile has a felt coaster glued to it.  This gives a smooth surface that will not damage furniture.

The last step was to spay lightly with Krylon Clear Matte Finish to set the ink.

My second tile uses the RRD stamp set Place in My Heart.  I stamped the tile using Stazon ink pads - Olive Green, Blazing Red, Mustard, and Jet Black.  Then I chalked a little green around the edges with Pebbles, Inc Chalking Set.  Because I used chalk I gently misted the top with a Krylon Clear Matte Finish to set the chalk.  On the back I glued a thick piece of felt in the shape of a dollie.  Sometimes I glue cork on the back.

Be sure to check out the other RRD Designers' blogs to see
what they have created this week.

Whimsy and Stars Studio - Amelie to the Beach

I am honored that Mabelle invited me to be a Guest Designer for her Whimsy and Stars Studio and to make a project with her new digi design Amelie to the Beach.

I made a summer card using Hip Hop patterned cardstock by Red Rubber Designs for the background.  The image is printed and then cut out using Spellbinder's Labels Eight and the star (sun) from Spellbinder's Scalloped Edge Frame.

I created sand for her bucket, shovel and the beach using Flower Soft Toffee.  Then I added buttons with Scrappers' Floss for accent.

Here is a close up of the sand.

Thank you, Mabelle, for asking me to create with your cute image of Amelie to the Beach.  It was so much fun to color and design a card using this image.

Check out all of Mabelle's images at Whimsy and Stars Studio. And see some wonderful cards by her Design Team on the Whimsy and Stars Studio Blog.

Red Rubber Designs - Patriotic

Memorial Day is this month, and we honor our service men and women.  Last week I previewed the United We Stand new release stamp set for you and told you to come back to see my card made with that set.  Here it is, a patriotic card to honor our service men and women.

The base card is Premium White Cardstock and the printed paper is from the Just Like Dad paper pad.  I also used the Corru-Gator on a section of green cardstock to be placed behind the main image.

The image is colored with Copic markers (R37, B18, YG93, YG95, YG97, E11, E35, E70, E71, E74).  The image is cut out with Spellbinders dies Classic Circles Lg and Petite Scalloped Circles Lg.

Rick rack trim accents the corrugated cardstock to tie the red color to the flag.  Inks used are Memento Tuxedo Black for the image and saying and Color Box Chalk Ink Olive Pastel to sponge the edges of the circle image and the saying.

Thank you for looking at my card.  You can find more patriotic stamps at Red Rubber Design in the section of New Releases this month.

Little Miss Muffet Challenge #34 - Linda Lee Hatter

Linda Lee Hatter is one of Little Miss Muffet's Hatter series.  What a sweet girl with a beautiful hat.  The saying is from the LMM rubber stamp set, Hatters Combo B.

I used Labels 5 Spellbinders Nestibilities to cut out the digi image, and then matted it on blue cardstock to coordinate with the blue printed background paper and blue cardstock.   I used a Scor-Buddy and Scor-Pal to make score marks above and below the saying.

The image is colored with Copic markers: V000, V04, V06, YG61, YG67, B41, B45, W1, W7, E000, E00, E01, RV11, YR21, RY12, YR23 Other supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, blue ribbon, Martha Stewart scalloped edger, blue jewels.

Red Rubber Designs Blog Hop - Hey Life

It is time for another RRD Blog Hop.  For the month of May each designer is using the bicycle lady from the Hey Life stamp set.  I also used the Ancient Map Background stamp for my background, which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Amberley Grace patterned cardstock.  I made the words "go girl" from the Distressed Typewriter Bet stamp set.  The bicycle lady and the sayings are stamped in Beaux Arts Blue Palette ink

This card uses a spinner die from Paper Trey Ink which allows the bicycle lady to spin and move across the card.  The base card is Premium White cardstock and the solid blue cardstock is from the Amberley Grace cardstock collection.  I used a Crop-a-dile to attach the eyelets from the Amberely Grace hardware collection.  Then I added a small ribbon to the back of the saying and popped it up with foam tape.  The edges of the card and saying are sponged with Beaux Arts Ink.

 Blog Hop Prize Details:

The Bicycle Lady needs a name - and we need your help to find it! Each blog on the hop (except the Red Rubber Designs Blog) has one of the letters of the Bicycle Lady's name somewhere in their blog hop post. Once you find all seven letters (that's a hint!) put them together to form her name. You may have to rearrange them a little bit!

Note: The letter you need from each blog will be obvious if you read carefully.... it looks just a little different from the rest of the letters!

Once you figure it out, email the name to contest@RedRubberDesigns.com and be sure to put your name and email address in the email with the Bicycle Lady's name. Every correct answer will be entered into a drawing for the featured stamp set - "Hey Life" - and one winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

Contest ends Sunday, May 6th at Midnight (US-CT).

Red Rubber Designs is releasing EIGHT more stamp sets for May's First Thursday!  Here is one of them --
United We Stand

My blog post next week will  use this stamp set.   Be sure to come back to see it.
