"Follow Your Dreams" Blog Hop

Our first Digi Design House blog hop is "Follow Your Dreams".  If you came here to my blog from Nancy Kirk's blog, then you are right on track in this blog hop.  If not, be sure to start at the Digi Design House blog so you won't miss any of the Design Team members' wonderful dream creations.

It was quite a challenge to me to  decide what to create that would describe a dream and for you to get to know me.  I decided to use two of the Digi Design House images, Feeling Buggy and Asian Butterfly to create the dream of a changed life.  I love butterflies because they symbolize for me new life in Jesus Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."  Isn't that just like a butterfly?  I can imagine a caterpillar wanting to fly but always having to crawl on his belly.  Then one day he emerges from his cocoon and is completely transformed into a butterfly and has beautiful wings and can fly!  His dream to fly has come true.

That is what life in Christ is like to me - transformed, new, free. I want my card making to glorify Christ and be a blessing to others.  I believe God has given me this creative gift to minister encouragement and hope to others. In my life, my faith and trust in God is first, then my family and then my other activities.  I am a wife of 43 years, a mother of two sons and two great daughter-in-laws, and grandma to 7 fantastic children (3-8).  Life is good!

Here's my dream theme card

For this card I used some stamps from The Angel Company as well as the Digi Design House images.  The word "dream" is from T3007 Natural Dream; the word "fly"  and the inside saying is from T3046 Want to Fly; and the background is from the set T2020 Butterfly Swirls.  I colored the butterfly and caterpillar with Copic markers YG63, YG67, Y32, Y23, Y24, E33, E35, E37,YG12, YG59 and YG97.  I used Leapfrog Bazzill cardstock for the card base and Ivory UltraSmooth Cardstock for the card front.

Here is the inside of the card

Three mystery Design Team members will be giving away the Cool Chicks set from Digi Design House to a random commenter on their blog post. You have until 6:00PM CST on Thursday, March 3 to comment. At 6:01PM, the number of comments will be tallied, and the random number generator will do its magic to pick the winner. You don't know which team members have the candy, so make sure you comment on EACH stop in the hop. Additionally, all of the names of our faithful (those of you who comment on EVERY stop on the hop) will be put in a hat to draw an additional set! Oh yes, we are giving away FOUR FREE STAMP SETS!

Thank you for hopping by my blog.  I'd love for you leave me a comment about my dream card.  Then continue your hop on over to see  Stephanie Serrano's dream creation.  Be sure to leave some love for each designer in their comments section.  Good luck!  You may be a winner of the blog candy!

YOU Make February FABULOUS! and The Joy of Easter

Today is the last day of February, the last day of TAC's YOU Make February FABULOUS! promotion.  Mischelle McDaniel is the guest designer for the stamp set The Joy of Easter.  It has lots of lovely spring images.  Be sure to see her cards at the Savvy Projects blog.

Here are a couple of cards I made with this stamp set.

I used the free download paper, Robin, for the background of this card, along with pink cardstock from Lilly Anna SWIC and green cardstock from Mia's Cottage.  The pink strip at the bottom is corrugated for texture. And I added Bitty Blossoms and a jewel for accent.  The image is stamped on Copic Caboodle cardstock and colored with Copic markers.

The next card was used for a swap card, and I will probably make some more for my personal Easter cards.  I like the little lamb.  I used gold cardstock from Cha Cha SWIC, embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  The green cardstock is from Mia's Cottage SWIC, and the image is stamped on Ivory Ultrasmooth cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  Only a simple jewel is addded on the lamb's neck ribbon for accent.

YOU Make February FABULOUS! and Springtime Garden

Another day with You Make February FABULOUS!.  Today Kim Sears is the guest designer, and you will love her beautiful spring cards.  She uses so much detail in her work.  Be sure to see her projects at the Savvy Projects blog.

Here is my card, created with one of the images from Springtime Garden.  Several others had used tags on their cards, and I think they make a nice accent piece.

For this card I used Lilly Anna Soar With It Collection paper and tag from The Angel Company and Premium White Cardstock.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder.  The image is colored with Copic markers B91, B95, B99, YG11, YG13, YG17, E31, E35, E77.  I cut it out and popped it up on the tag.  The saying is from the TAC stamp set called The Joy of Easter.

YOU Make February FABULOUS! and Simply Sweet

Debra Miller is the Guest Designer today on Mischelle's Savvy Projects Blog.  Debra chose Simply Sweet, a Level C Hostess Set for her projects.  This set actually has many images in it and she featured several of them.  Her cards are FABULOUS, so be sure to check them out at the Savvy Projects Blog.

Here is a card I made with the wedding card image.  I used Emma SWIC cardstock in the neutral color so that it will go with any wedding colors.  Since today is Valentine's Day, a heart doilie seemed perfect for this wedding card.  I colored the car with Copic markers E50, E51, E53 to keep it neutral also.  A bow from the Emma ribbon collection was the last embellishment.
